Battlefield 2042 Will Have Three Multiplayer Modes but No Battle Royale

The latest news is accepted controversial among fans of the Battlefield series. Electronic Arts announced a new game Battlefield 2042 that will be released this October. The game features three different multiplayer modes. One of them was expected to be a battle royale, but lately, EA refuted this guess. Now, fans don’t know what to expect.

There were a lot of rumors before about a battle royale mode in Battlefield 2042. Moreover, one of the revealed multiplayer experiences has the title "Hazard Zone" and will base on a team play. It's quite suspicious, isn't it? Despite the retraction of a battle royale in the upcoming title, it may mean that it won't be a standard game following the pattern of some successful games such as Fortnite or Warzone. In this case, this mode may still be a battle royale-like game, but not similar to the previously mentioned ones.

Another interesting point is the unrevealed mode. All we know is that loyal fans of the franchise will be pleased by it. Accordingly, it's likely to be not a royale battle. By the words of EA, Hazard Zone is an absolutely innovative experience that includes all the benefits of other successful multiplayer projects. It will differ a lot from other modes provided in the game. More details will be presented on July 22nd at EA Play Live.

The last multiplayer experience is called All-Out Warfare and combines several classic modes of previous games of this series. Nevertheless, All-Out Warfare is much more advanced and has a lot of new peculiarities. It will bring the biggest maps in the franchise as well as around 130 players can join a single game. This multiplayer experience will be the main one in the title.

It's pretty unusual that Electronic Arts has several times claimed the absence of a battle royale mode in their future game. It seems that the company is trying to divide the project from all the hits of this genre and prepare players that they won't follow the standards of such titles. It looks like a pretty brave but risky strategy. In any event, we may check the results of their effort soon.

Is it worth it for players to expect a royale battle game in the Battlefield series? Despite Electronic Arts has never denied a probability of creating a title in this genre, it won't probably happen soon. It seems like EA wants to keep Battlefield in some other field that doesn't relate to the latest trendy games.
