In the course of some misunderstanding, users mistakenly decided that the game would be released for PS5.
But Microsoft and Bethesda have announced that the Starfield PS5 will not be released.
During Bethesda Gamecom's 2021 broadcast, statements were made that raised misconceptions that Starfield would be released on the PS5. But already on August 30, Greenberg and Hines posted on Twitter, where they said that they did not plan, and never planned, the release of Starfield for the PS5 platform.
The misconception was formed as follows: when during the broadcast of the talk about the acquisition of Microsoft, the phrase was uttered that some games would be re-released for PS5. And at the same moment, the demo of the Starfield video began. It is logical to assume that it was about the re-release of this particular game. But now the Xbox general marketer has announced that they have been misunderstood. According to him, at the moment they do not plan to release the game, and as for future forecasts, he is not ready to answer this question right now.
In turn, this comment left hopes for avid gamers that Starfield will still be released for PS5, albeit not right now. After all, according to Hines and Greenberg from their tweets dated August 30, they still consider Starfield as their main exclusive and are not going to change their attitude towards it.
Starfield was first demonstrated at E3 2021. But then there was a leak and users were able to get information a few hours before the announcement. As part of the presentation, it was announced that the game will be released in November 2022. So far, support for Xbox Series X / S and PC is planned. On the first day of release, the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass.
