Elden Ring: Nightreign – Global Launch Schedule, Pre-Load Details, and What to Expect at Release

Alright, Tarnished, prepare to have your very essence scoured anew! The whispers were true. FromSoftware is dragging us back into the abyss, but this time, the Lands Between offer a different flavor of torment. Elden Ring: Nightreign is upon us, a maelstrom of co-operative chaos that trades serene exploration for a relentless, roguelite meat grinder. Whether you’re a veteran of countless demigod slayings or a fresh lamb to this slaughter, here’s the dire dispatch for surviving (or at least understanding) the initial onslaught.

The Blackened Scrolls: Nightreign's Core Truths

For you PC-bound souls, Nightreign erupts worldwide at a single, cursed moment: 6:00 p.m. EDT on May 29, 2025. This is your universal zero hour. For North American acolytes, this means 3:00 p.m. PDT and 5:00 p.m. CDT on that fateful May 29th. European devotees will witness the sundering at 11:00 p.m. BST, May 29th, or as the clock strikes midnight (12:00 a.m. CEST), ushering in May 30th. Those further east, in Asia and Oceania, will awaken to Limveld's horrors on the morning of May 30th – think 7:00 a.m. KST/JST or 8:00 a.m. AEST. Consult your local astrolabe to confirm. The sacred act of pre-loading begins on May 27th. Be one with the download, lest you be late to your own funeral.

Consoles: The Rolling Midnight Massacre

Warriors of PlayStation and Xbox, your descent into Nightreign is a more staggered, creeping dread, largely adhering to the sacred tradition of midnight local time. However, the Americas will be plunged into darkness with a unified cry at Midnight EDT on May 30th. This grants a cunning temporal advantage to West Coast (PDT) players, who can begin their suffering at 9 p.m. on May 29th, while Brazilian (BRT) Tarnished join the cacophony at 1 a.m. on May 30th. For the remainder of the globe, your personal apocalypse commences precisely at midnight in your time zone as May 30th is born. Our brethren in New Zealand will thus be the vanguard, tasting Limveld's bitter fruits many hours before others. A grim honor, indeed.

What Foul Offerings Await in the Launch Crypt?

When the seals break, Nightreign will spew forth eight Nightfarer Classes, each a unique vessel for your impending doom and fleeting triumphs. Choose your instrument of (and for) destruction: the primal Wylder, the unyielding Guardian, the imperious Duchess, the insidious Recluse, the piercing Ironeye, the brutal Raider, the unwavering Executor, and the haunting, newly-revealed Revenant. This spectral virtuoso wields a harp, of all damnable things, to orchestrate a threnody of phantom allies and soul-shattering melodies.

Your initial forays into the ever-mutating hellscape of Limveld will be as a solitary specter or as part of an unbreakable triumvirate. Director Junya Ishizaki himself confessed that a two-player covenant was "a detail most grievously overlooked" in the initial incantations, but vows it's now a priority for post-launch necromancy. For the lone wolves daring to face this madness solo, FromSoftware has deigned to slightly temper the ferocity of Limveld's denizens, so you might survive a few heartbeats longer before being overwhelmed. Slightly.

But fear not, the torment is designed to be an evolving beast. A deluge of post-launch content, delivered as free updates, will further deepen your despair with new archfiends to vanquish, more grotesque monstrosities to flee, additional Nightfarer archetypes to master and be dismembered as, and, gods willing, that fabled two-player mode. Early, blood-spattered visions from the launch build tease grotesque ballets of death, such as a spectral moth locked in a deadly embrace with a colossal crab, legions of dragons eager to immolate you, and twisted, re-imagined nightmares dredged from the darkest corners of Elden Ring prime.

Your Final Invocation Before the Plunge:

  • Embrace the Inevitable: Pre-load the game 48 hours before launch. Do not tempt fate.

  • Select Your Shroud: Choose your Edition (Collector’s, Deluxe, or Standard). Claim your pre-order trinket; it may be the only pretty thing you see for a while.

  • Forge Your Pact (of Pain): If daring this with comrades, consecrate your Nightfarer class choices for a symphony of slaughter on opening night.

  • Etch the Hour of Ruin: Set your reminders. Every moment delayed is a missed opportunity for glorious, repeated annihilation in Limveld.

Limveld, a realm reborn in perpetual night and terror, awaits your arrival. Its tendrils are already reaching. Sharpen your resolve, find two equally unhinged allies, and brace for the symphony of steel and screams. The Nightreign commences on the eve of May 29th (or the dawn of May 30th, depending on your cursed coordinates).

May your deaths be swift, Tarnished. And numerous.
