The expansions were available on the classic version as well - The Scourge of Armagon and Dissolution of Eternity. A new version of Quake with quality graphics is available for the bulk of modern platforms. The game was presented on QuakeCon 2021. It looks fantastic mixing features of the modern graphics and old-school textures.
Players can download additional maps for Quake. Cooperative mode is available locally and via the Internet with up to 4 players. A story mode is available as well. It includes original add-ons, as well as several new ones. New content is developed by the MachineGames studio, famous for their successful games Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.
Besides, the title includes some cut content including the lost beginning section of the E2M6 level (The Dismal Oubliette). The expansion of the E2M6 start area had to be excluded due to the size of BSP files - back in those days, the developers made a decision to limit the weight of maps to not bigger than 1.4 MB. Nevertheless, now it’s not a problem. Players will appear in the cave and check out all the content which had to be before the original The Dismal Oubliette. It’s going to be extremely interesting, especially to old-school fans of the series.
