Players won't find ethnic diversity in Final Fantasy XVI

In the trailer for the famous game, you can see white-skinned heroes. You will not find any racial, cultural, or national diversity in this novelty. In an interview, the game's producer Naoki Yoshida admits that the lack of racial diversity can upset fans. But the decision of playable characters was made based on the characteristics of the plot. It's all about the setting of Medieval Europe and the emphasis made by the game developers on a particular region.

The primary game location is the Valisteia region, which is isolated from the rest of the world. Events tell about historical times far from our days. And at that time, it was difficult to find such a diversity of races, cultures, and nationalities as it is now.

By the way, the previous, the 15th part of Final Fantasy, can please fans with great ethnic variability. Game locations span the Moon and Earth, and the characters are very diverse.

The producer focused on the fact that, although there are very few races in the game, the internal characteristics of the characters are very variable. The variety touched not the external features of the heroes but their personal qualities.

The release of the 16th part of the game is likely to take place next summer. It is expected that the gaming novelty will be released on PS5.
