"The War Within" is the tenth expansion pack for World of Warcraft, marking the beginning of a new trilogy. This expansion invites players to explore the "Underworld" beneath Azeroth, an expansive and mysterious territory teeming with secrets, dangers, and a formidable entity. Players will explore diverse underground environments such as crystal caverns, bioluminescent fungal forests, forgotten dwarven cities, and ancient ruins, each offering unique challenges, stories, and treasures.
The expansion introduces the corrupted Nerubians, transformed into a monstrous arachnid army.
