The closed technical testing of Battlefield 2042 began in mid-August, and all its participants are under the NDA - they are prohibited from sharing any material, such as screenshots, videos, or streaming. Nevertheless, it didn’t stop some of them, and since the beginning of testing, many short gameplay videos and screenshots have appeared on the Internet.
Some of the leaks were quickly blocked, but at one point they began to appear at such a speed that EA could not keep up. You can find archives with videos from various sources on the Internet, and some videos are still available even on YouTube. Numerous videos show helicopter flights, tank rides, and gunfire battles.
EA Leading Community Manager Adam Freeman explained in his Twitter that leaks can lead not only to the loss of access to testing but also to a permanent ban in the main game after its release. Only for 48 hours, EA blocked a lot of players and they can’t take part in the testing since this weekend. Also, he admitted that the start of the testing was perfect and the developers received a lot of helpful information. The company is going to continue blocking the violators.
The community manager also said that test takers should not share their account data with anyone, as it may end badly for them. It may mean that they would be blocked as well. In this case, the company is committed to keeping the testing under control.
Also, studio DICE has recently published a short film "Exodus", based on the upcoming title. The short film reveals the plot of the game, where in the world of the near future the villain Oz is trying to set countries against each other to start a new world war. Irish from Battlefield 4 is trying to prevent this from happening. The character with his special equipment will be available for pre-ordering the game. There will be no single-player mode in the title, so such videos are quite important to understand the plot of the game. DICE employees plan to develop the story in two ways - outside and inside the game.
The release of Battlefield 2042 is scheduled for October 22 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. Earlier, insiders shared details about the Hazard Zone mode - according to rumors, it will combine elements of Escape from Tarkov and Hunt: Showdown. It is assumed that users will be able to play this mode on the Orbital map. They will have to collect data from hard drives and crashed satellites.
