Cyberpunk 2077 May Release On PS5

Probably, news about the next-gen patch will be out soon. There is no other information in the PSN database yet, but the appearance of the cover hints at the imminent release of the native versions of the game for PS5 and Xbox Series. Officially, their release is scheduled for the first quarter of 2022.

Also, earlier players noticed that Steam updated the assembly of Cyberpunk 2077. This usually happens before the release of updates.

Cyberpunk 2077 for PS5 has been added to the PSN database along with an updated icon - instead of a male V, it now flaunts a female version of the protagonist.

Apparently, the long-awaited nextgen update will be released in mid-February or early March along with patch 1.5 - this is indirectly indicated by the recent update of the game built on Steam.

However, the fact that PS5 and Xbox Series owners will receive a free patch at the beginning of the year became known back in October.

A PlayStation Game Size user who has been carefully researching the PlayStation database to regularly and accurately share early game size and release date information believes that the next-gen version of the game will be released on a next-generation console in mid-February-early March. If we remember how busy the next month is with releases, then, most likely, the developers will release it in early spring so as not to compete with new games.

By the way, the other day a lot of rumors surfaced on the network about the content of the upcoming update and the features of Cyberpunk 2077 versions for next-generation consoles. So, according to Forbes, which turned to CDPR for a comment, this information is not true. Besides other rumors is Cyberpunk 2077 may be rebooted and may get a new title. Media journalist Paul Tassi drew attention to rumors about global changes in the CD Projekt RED game. The specialist cites a 4chan leak by an anonymous author who described himself as being familiar with the Polish studio's plans. According to him, Cyberpunk 2077 is waiting for a restart. In particular, the game will change its name to Cyberpunk 2077: Samurai Edition.

Previously, the studio left the game director of Cyberpunk 2077 Mateusz Kanik, who worked at the company for 15 years. In recent years, he has combined the position of a game director and chief designer of CD Projekt RED. The reasons for the departure of the specialist are not disclosed.
