The Nintendo Switch Is Better Selling Than the Xbox 360

Recently, the total amount of the Nintendo Switch selling outran the Xbox 360 in more than half of a million units. It’s a big success as now the Nintendo Switch is the eighth best-selling console ever with over 84 million-selling. Nevertheless, it’s still not the biggest selling of the company as Gameboy sold around 119 million consoles and Nintendo DS sold more than 154 million units. Will the Switch catch up with mentioned consoles? It’s pretty possible.

According to the latest financial success of the company, there are many rumors that Nintendo plans to provide more efficient and bigger production. The next points for the Switch to succeed PlayStation 3 and Wii. It’s almost certainly will happen as during the last year the number of the total Switch selling is around 29 million units. Due to the pandemic, the demand for consoles has significantly grown. Nintendo didn’t expect such great results which exceeded their plans. Also, the console remains actual and will be for a pretty long time.

The selling success of the console has a positive impact on the selling of numerous exclusive titles. For example, around 36 million copies of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and around 33 million of Animal Crossing: New Horizons were sold for today. Each of the other popular games from such franchises as The Legend of Zelda, Super Smash Bros, and Pokemon has sold over 20 million units.

Nintendo won’t limit the consoles only. Fans are waiting for the sequels of numerous franchises and a lot of them are confirmed but without any announced dates. Among other rumors is the development of the Nintendo Switch Pro. It is expected that the new console will have a 4K Dock, full 1080p Switch display, and long battery life. However, no confirmed dates are provided as well.

One of the most interesting and expected novelties of Nintendo products is their animation projects. Chris Meledandri, a CEO of a famous American film and animation studio Illumination, cooperates with Nintendo. A lot of movies will be released in the future. Right now, the Super Mario movie is in development. The movie is produced by Nintendo game director Shigeru Miyamoto, who created Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and many other popular franchises.

The volume of the future success of the console is still unclear. It is a very promising product that has amazing potential.
