The Last Of Us 2 Arcade Center Closes In Real Life

Some pity news for the fans of The Last Of Us 2 who wanted to visit the Arcade Center appeared in the game as well as many citizens of Seattle. Due to financial difficulties, the owners of the hall decided to close it. It's not surprising at these Pandemic times though. It's worth mentioning that the center was pretty successful at pre-Covid times long before the game was released.

In the second part of The Last of Us, the main characters travel through post-apocalyptic Seattle, and in the fourth chapter, players could get into a local center with GameWorks arcade machines. It became pretty famous across the gaming community and many fans of the game from all over the globe wanted to visit when the Covid pandemic would be over. Alas, now it has become known that in real life the center won't work anymore, which was initially reported by the local artist and writer Corey Lewis. The writer noted all the sadness followed by this action. According to the owners, the whole point is in financial difficulties, and to a greater extent the company's debts.

And, of course, the fans of the game are not the only ones who are disappointed with such updates as many Seattle citizens liked to spend their time visiting the hall. Nevertheless, now it's possible to visit the center only virtually playing The Last of Us.

Among other news related to the franchise are some insights about the remake of the first part of The Last of Us. It's been 8 years since the release of The Last of Us, Sony's smash hit of the PS3 era. And now there are rumors about a possible remake of Joel and Ellie's adventures, in the cruel world of the post-apocalypse. Citing Sony's 2021 reports, the company is indeed actively developing a remake of one of its projects for the PS5. Adding fuel to the fire is a remote CTO job with multiple studios: Santa Monica Studio, Guerrilla Games, Sucker Punch Productions, and Naughty Dog. And the fact that this is a remake is indicated by separate requirements from the employee, namely the introduction of existing gameplay systems into a new structure and improvement of the existing scenario level for interaction and involvement.

The remake would be a good way to bring some additional interest to the franchise before the release of the third part of the series, which was partly confirmed at the last podcast of the developers of the Last of Us. Besides, it can be the debut of The Last of Us on PCs.
