Soon the Owners of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 5 Can’t Play GTA Online

According to the latest reports, Rockstar will shut down Grand Theft Auto Online for the old consoles. Attention to the Xbox 360 and PS3 users! Your adventures in Los Santos will end on December 16, 2021. From September 15, the titles won’t be available to purchase for these consoles.

The game has been a hit since it was released in 2013. During these eight years, numerous dramatic changes made the title such diverse and interesting to players. It still updates today and soon there will be a lot of major updates dedicated to modern consoles including PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Consequently, to provide more advanced features, the company decided to stop supporting Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the title. It won't be a big loss for Rockstar as for today such consoles are considered quite old-fashioned. Besides GTA Online, LA Noire and Max Payne 3 won't be supported for mentioned consoles as well. It means that players can't check out statistics and use Rockstar Games Social Club services related to these games. Nevertheless, users still can enjoy the single-player mode of any of such titles. It won't have any impact on their game process.

Despite such news may be bad for owners of PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, it’s a sign of great upcoming releases! First of all, the future update of GTA Online will likely be quite large and may bring a lot of novelties. Fans of the game expect not only something new for the multiplayer mode but also the single-player one. Secondly, it could mean that Rockstar starts to work on some new major projects. If it’s true, there is no doubt that Grand Theft Auto 6 will soon appear on the market. During the last few years, there were a lot of rumors and leaks related to the sequel of the popular franchise. However, there are no official announcements, as well as other details of the title, which stay unrevealed. Many players consider that we have several games in the modern setting, so perhaps the future one will take place in the past.

It may be quite surprising, but there are pretty many titles that are still supported on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Of course, there are not many players on such servers, but they still work! However, the decision of Rockstar implies that supporting the mentioned consoles became unprofitable, and not many users play via them. Also, the game is not costly for the majority of modern consoles.
